I want my nieces to be aware of their personal filters before they rush to condemn as people seem to have done with Maria. It takes nine months to gain all that weight and grow a baby inside your womb, why would anyone expect a mother to be able to lose it in two?

However, my true problem with all the brouhaha surrounding this photo is the use of the word 'bully' to describe it. Adults cannot be bullied, only children can. An adult can be harrassed, intimidated, coerced, not bullied. I truly hate now women on the internet bandy about that word to make themselves a victim because another person on the internet made them mad or disagreed with them. This is what the freaky hipsters at Reddit and the trolls on 4chan call butthurt. It's an apt description, no?Shan Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15016900159511069626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-308981464139716859.post-74076022619545122382013-10-20T19:50:52.839-07:002013-10-20T19:50:52.839-07:00I'm one of the people that it hit a nerve for-...I'm one of the people that it hit a nerve for--and I think she really is a whipping boy for a general frustration with the unrealistic expectations of "hotness" for women that our society perpetuates. Interestingly, I have noticed that those of us that are reacting strongly have daughters; personally, I would like them not to have to deal with the expectation that unless you're also hot, nothing else really matters. Had her tagline been aspirational rather than judging, that would have made a lot of difference to me. I don't need an excuse not to be exercising to a point that has more to do with vanity than fitness. That's my 2 cents (I always have them!).Jenn @ Juggling Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14455967210924573398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-308981464139716859.post-81369605986735901292013-10-18T12:20:16.763-07:002013-10-18T12:20:16.763-07:00I saw that photo and thought it was motivation.
