Going Through Withdrawls

I can without a doubt say this was the best Olympics I've ever seen. I don't know what to do with myself at night.

Thank you Team USA for making it so compelling.

Thank you for giving families an opportunity to sit down and watch TV together.

Thank you for giving us parents a way to show our kids what hard work, dedication and perseverance can achieve.

Thank you for handling yourselves with grace.

Thank you. Just, thank you. No, really, thank you. A lot.

I cheered for you and shed tears for you. Can't wait to see what you do in 2012.

  1. I never thought about it that way, but you're right - we DID watch TV as a family, and there was nothing to worry about. Kiddo (age 6) could cheer and groan right along side of us, and we could talk about absolutely everything that was going on. (Although we did avoid explaining to him the age scandal with the Chinese female gymnasts - how do you explain THAT to a 6 yr old while still trying to keep an open mind?!)

  2. This so sums it up for me! Especially the parts thanking the team for Michael Phelps in trunks.

  3. They WERE good this time, weren't they? Even my four year old was excited to watch whatever was being covered. Now I can't wait for the Winter Olympics!

  4. It did seem especially excellent this year. It's awesome seeing the kids get into it, too.

  5. @Heather - My son likes to watch football with us but the commercials aired during the games drive us insane! Didn't have that problems with the Olympics.

@Steph - I will proudly admit to becoming a Phelps fan on Facebook. Perhaps more photos?

@Mamasphere - Definitely! My son is anxious for the snowboarding.

@Jamie - Drama Kid was practicing his turns in the pool last weekend!

  6. sniff! I miss it, too! Of course, we still have several days backed up on the DVR, so it won't actually be over for me for a while yet. ;)

Thank you for visiting and letting me know your thoughts!
