Backstage with the Band, Am I Too Old? and What I Ate

Sunday, June 8, 2008

I had a GREAT time watching Venice at the Fiesta del Sol. Like an idiot I forgot my camera! I took some photos with my friend's camera and will post some later if she sends me any. This link is from the Venice fan forum (there's a shot of me, but it's not a good one).

Venice put on a really good show. I was surprised how many people knew the words to all the songs. The guys even did a few numbers from their Pine Mountain Logs shows (that's when they do cover material, always a
good time!)

I stayed and helped my friend at the merchandise table. It was crazy! I don't know enough about the band and their albumography to answer all
the questions people had, but handled the cash transactions, looked for shirt sizes and tried to drum up business "T-shirts, only $10! You know you want one!"

My friend was so grateful for my extra pair of hands she gave me these:

A cozy thermal, a tank and the Spin Art CD.

After we packed up, I got to go backstage and say hello. I've been to enough of the shows at the
Belly Up that everyone knows my face though I don't think they remember my name. But I don't care. I'll be their nameless groupie any day.

I went to Tilly's this morning and got these really cute tube tops off the clearance rack. The two tops and two tanks came to $25. Since I had a gift
card, there's zero guilt!

But, while I was trying them on, in addition to thinking the girls are way too big for tops like these, I thought, "I'm too old to be wearing this. I look like I took them from my daughter!" What do you think? Is there a certain age where shopping in the Juniors' section becomes a no no?

And, here's my food journal for Friday through Sunday (Is this remotely interesting? Do you want me to keep going?):

20 Goldfish pretzels
Pasta with chicken and veggies (2 bowls)

  1. I think once you hit 60, you're done. No more in the juniors section. But that's just me.

Having said that, I don't see anything wrong with those tops. They're frelling cute.

  2. When I tried them on, I had to go out onto the sales floor and look at the mannequin to make sure I had them on right!

  3. I love your comment above. Hilarious. I checked out your picture (wearing the hat?). You can totally pull off that top.

  5. I'm totally doing the smoothie thing too. AND, I just had one... AND instant poop...

Sorry, but it needed to be said.

I'm going to drink these more often. I mine, I put why protein, oats, frozen berries from TJ's and almond milk. Also, a TB of PB.

    Good!

  6. Poop? Bonus! I had mine today too. I'll have to make note of how long it takes before I make my own business.

I've looked at whey protein and soy protein. I may get some the next time they're on sale at Henry's.

    TB of PB. Hee hee.
